Dear every single Western animation company:

Please consider making your female leads half as interesting design-wise as your male leads. Please refrain from sticking to the huge eyes + button nose + thin lips formula.

Please, use the design skills you learned in school.

Thank you.

LOL, first world feminism at its finest.  ”You need to make the female leads in your children’s cartoons look more different to match my personal tastes or you are oppressing me!”

I love, love, love how you probably gave yourself a hernia trying to cherrypick as many “similar” looking female characters as possible…. and yet even when I squint I have a much easier time telling apart the female characters then the males.   I mean, maybe it’s because most of the females aren’t mostly adorably awkward teenage boys or sweetly gangly young men with fluffy hair because that seems to be what makes teenage girls on tumblr get tingly gineys.

I mean just look how similar all these female characters are!  Just look at how similar they all are!

Also… if you wanna whine about thin lips, big eyes, and button noses….

Then stop watching anime.   Then maybe, just maybe animation companies will stop taking so many visual cues from anime in an attempt to appeal to teenybopper bloggers like you.

They never said it was oppressing them…

And as far as those examples, they do tend to have the same kind of build. Asking for representation isn’t bad though they were cherry-picking a bit but, notice, they used the same movies for each male and female pair who are leads. They said “every single western company” which was stupid of them, but in terms to your examples, they seem to mean feature film 3d animators, not 2d and/or television. There are still good examples of each company (aside from Disney, not as much, but they do the same for males) with diversity.

Stop making things a competition. I mean, there is more differences between the males than females, but the females also have their differences.

Also, calm down.

Some tumblrina went off on a whole rant saying every western animation company ever had to step up its character design for females… because of a few cherrypicked animated films where there wasn’t that much visual diversity amongst the males either if they wanted to play that card, but I’m the one who needs to calm down?

Lol, ok sweetie.

ps: I don’t see her whining about the number of guys that have the same button noses, huge eyes and thin lips that their female co-stars have
